The Niagara Stealth Elongated Toilet- 0.8 Gallons Per Flush Baby! Eco Friendly Understatement!

I have decided since a lot of the toilets that are coming out on the market today are considered water conservation toilets that I would only write articles about toilets in the eco-friendly category that really were different or had something going for them that was pretty special. Because of this the first toilet that I have chosen to write about in this category is the Niagara Stealth  0.8 gallons per flush elongated toilet. This is going to be a very short sweet article that tells you why this toilet deserves to be reviewed in the first place and just what makes it so special.

The Niagara company has been putting out low-water consumption toilets for quite some time but this toilet was really different to me when I saw it, as it really represents a move forward in toilet design and function in my opinion. This toilet looks like a very basic elongated white toilet. It is in what they call comfort or chair height meeting that it is around 17 to 18 inches from the floor to where you sit on the seat. That is a nice feature but there is really nothing special about it these days. Also kind of neat, but not really special is the fact that the flush mechanism for the toilet is on the top of the tank, not the side. In fact it appears to be a dual flush toilet at first glance, as most of those have the flush handle on top of the toilet.

What really separates this toilet from the rest is that it only uses 0.8 gallons per flush! I don’t think I’ve ever seen another toilet that had this star  rating on Amazon that use this little amount of water. The way they do it has been done before but I don’t think it’s ever been done with this little amount of water. What they have in the tank is a power assist chamber that pressurizes the water and then sends it very quickly around the bowl and down the front so that it flushes very quickly and powerfully but does not need as much water to do so. I have installed both Kohler and Sloan pressurized  flush valves in commercial settings before but all of them used the standard 1.6 gallons per flush. So if you want an eco-friendly toilet that still flushes very well this just may be the toilet for you..

I have not installed this particular model of Niagara myself but I do appreciate their other models. I did go ahead and read all of the reviews on Amazon regarding this toilet and I was really impressed at what I read. This toilet does seem to have a slight problem with self-cleaning on the backside of the bowl because most of the water comes around to the front. Also this toilet does not come with a seat that is soft-close. In fact it may not come with the seat it all. However just the convenience and quality of this toilet combined with the low amount of water used per flush makes this toilet worth every bit of the $217 they are asking for it on Amazon.

I think I’m going to rate this toilet is a solid four stars and I am pretty much in agreement that 4.3 stars on Amazon is well-deserved. I think I’m going to go ahead and buy one of these toilets for a client and install it and after that I will give it a rating that I feel comfortable with based on my personal experience.

As always I will leave a link at the bottom of this page that you can paste in your browser and it will take you to this page where you can either read up on or purchase the Niagara stealth toilet for yourself. Bear in mind that I do receive a commission if you buy something using my link. There is no additional cost to you Amazon just gives me a little reward for providing these articles and original content and directing you to their website. As always thank you for reading and have a great day!
